Lamentations is a book of grief over the fall of Jerusalem and the exile of God's people as witnessed by the prophet Jeremiah. This book gives a graphic and tragic picture of the devastating effects of sin on a nation but then speaks of the eternal hope found in our redeeming God who is always loving, merciful, just, faithful and compassionate.
